Saints Colts 40 – Biggar Colts 27
Saints Colts were also performing heroics against Biggar Colts and finished off with an excellent win by 40pts to 27. The game was always going to be a challenge. Biggar have won the Edinburgh League and travelled to Dumfries undefeated this season. The have also qualified for the National cup competition that starts on 18th January.
Both teams had players missing and settled for a 14 a side game. Coach Mark Lindsay says “Dumfries are well known for being tough at home so this was an ideal opportunity to take on a side that are doing pretty well at the moment”

Speaking after both games, Club President Donald Brown congratulated all the players (home and visitors) for putting on such a great display in the difficult conditions. “The Senior XV was not at full strength and it shows we are coming back after our recent injury setbacks.
“The impressive things was that the Senior XV ‘played as a team’ and combined well with some
scintillating moves to score their tries. The Colts win confirms our belief that this group of lads are special and will prove to be an invaluable asset for Saints in years to come.”
The next Senior XV Festive friendly is away to Annan on Saturday 4th January, kick off 2pm. What better way of welcoming the New Year than a game with our old friends along the Solway? Come and cheer on your team and bring auld acquaintance to mind for a wee while.
