S1/2 win Development Leage final

Dumfries Saints S1/2 boys headed to Stewartry on Sunday to take part in the Development League final against Newton Stewart. After a fantastic season this win was a fitting end to the year. Newton kicked off. Both sides exchanged great forward play before an excellent break and pass by Jack Roberts gave Thomas McKerlie the opportunity to burst up the wing to score. Andrew McMorrin slotted over the first of his 3 convertions. Ross Hair grabbed a brace of tries with superb runs. Andrew Morris was on the score sheet twice as well as Newton had no answer to his great turn of speed. Of course Captain Fantastic Gavin Wilson had to join in the try fest as well, smashing through the line to score. Gavin also had some superb try saving tackles. Although Newton only scored once they put up a some stern defence and gave our lads a very hard game. Jack Gaw from Newton had a fantastic game. The season is now finished and we look forward to welcoming the P7 boys next season. The S2 boys will step up to under 15 district rugby. A big thanks to the coaches who have drilled the boys so well, Bruce, John and Bryan. There are also unsung heroes in every team so a special mention to Liz for making it all happen.
