Dumfries Saints 2nd XV 38 – Moffat 3

Last Saturday Saints were looking down the barrel of yet another game free weekend as they maintain their relentless march to the League championship albeit by the unsavoury method of others defaulting robbing them of the feel good factor of winning all games by right.

Luckily for Saints near neighbours Moffat stepped in at the last minute and put a young side out against a Saints team which showed signs of rustiness after their enforced lay off. To their credit the visitors battled for the entire 80 minutes and gave the Saints a good old fashioned workout with some mighty hits going in which was just what the Saints needed.
For the record Saints scorers were Dom Lewis, James Currie, Keith Riddick and a hat trick from Gavin Mack. Keiran Milby converted two of the tries as did Will Kelly.

For the last game of the regular season this weekend Saints, intent on maintaining their unbeaten record, travel to second placed Kilmarnock. They then face another lay off until the promotion play offs which will be held on 7th May.
