Visiting teams taking part in the Round Robin
Ayr, Marr, Biggar, Langholm, Annan and Stewartry.

On Sunday Dumfries Saints Micro’s organised their annual tournament. Like last year the weather was kind and the boys and girls enjoyed glorious sunshine. The tournament was well attended by teams from Marr, Ayr, Biggar, Langholm, Annan and Stewartry. This year due to the numbers the format was split between P3 and combined P1/P2 teams playing round robins. All matches were closely contended in the P3 section with Saints winning all their games by one try. A final was played between Saints and Marr with Saints remaining unbeaten all day recording a 3 – 2 win. Ayr played Biggar in the 3rd/4th play off with Biggar coming out on top.  The P1/2 section was also very close with the young Saints wining all their games except one which they drew with Ayr. This handed them victory at the top of the table with Ayr second and Stewartry third. The Mums made sure the event ran without fault providing a great effort in the kitchen and cake stand to cope with so many players and parents.

The P3’s will take confidence from their win when they travel to Langholm a week on Sunday. This is also a well attended event with teams from the borders being invited which will prove tuff competition for this growing in maturity group of players.

A big thank you to everyone involved.
