Saints In Seven Heaven! Seven Sisters 0 Dumfries Saints 15

Saints travelled to Seven Sisters in South Wales for the annual match with old friends and to maintain a tradition started in 1960 by the late Mungo Bryson and friends.

Unusually Saints travelled with quite a strong team if a little light on numbers with only one sub, as Sam Hiddleston was last out of the changing rooms he was it! The Welsh hosts were worried about the hard ground conditions so the game was played under a strange set of rules with scrums and line outs but no contact 6 touch rugby in between.

Saints always had too much pace for the hosts and indeed the format probably stopped the score being a lot higher. Seven Sisters had a strong second team out as their first team were committed to a league game.

Tries for Saints came from Roy Dunlop, upholding long family connection to the fixture, Sam Hiddleston when team mates eventually let him on and finally from a flying Johnnie Sloan. A well deserved win, a trophy retained and a great weekend had by all!
