Saints pre-season preparation continues

Last weekend Saints sent a squad to Hawick to take on a select side and came away with a victory. Another squad went to Moffat tens and had two hard games against Creighton and Newton Stewart. Both fixtures allowed opportunities for new players and regulars to hone their fitness.

This weekend Saints are sending a squad to Biggar to take on a side which is notoriously hard to beat, playing a league higher than Saints. A further squad will travel to Annan to compete in their annual 15 a side tournament. There are a number of new faces at the club this year bringing a welcome influx of playing members.

The Colts travel to Ayr to take part in a Tens tournament which will give coach Micky Hunt an opportunity to give some of last years under 16 team a chance to shine and claim a place in the Colts line up for this season which starts in two week’s time. This is a transitional year for the Colts with a significant number having left and now playing in the two senior squads this weekend. Any of last year’s U16 side and anybody aged 16 but under 18 who fancy playing rugby should come to the Club on Tuesday or Thursday evening training and ask for Micky.

The squads for all three teams will be announced at training on Thursday evening so can all players please look at the club website for details.
