Dumfries U15 60 Cum/Kil 7

Dumfries got back on winning ways with an excellent performance over Cumnock/Kilmarnock combination. After conceding a last minute try against Ayr it didn’t take long to get back in the stride. Callum Fitzpatrick started the rout with a break down the touchline to score quickly followed by a break away run from Paul Gibson for his first try of the season.

Declan O’Donnell again stole the ball in the lineout, he has done this all season and is unstoppable from 20 metres to score under the posts. Ian McKnight converted.

The visitors scored a converted try from a long wynded pass from Jack McHenry that was intercepted but it proved the only time the visitors were in Dumfries 22 and soon after with a pressure kick from the visitors under their posts the ball was fielded by full back Ian McKnight to head for the touchline and popped the ball inside to Alex Craig who was unstoppable to score. Gavin Howatson was the next to get his first score for Saints with a rip of the ball out a maul to sprint in from 40 metres to score.

HT 27 -= 7

The second half started in the same vain with a sweeping move along the backs put in Jack Pybus to score but it was noted that Saints had 16 players on the pitch so the score was disallowed but not to be denied the Saints hammered at the visitors line and again Callum Fitzpatrick broke the line to score for Ian McKnight to convert. On each kick off the ball was taken back at the visitors and they were given no time to settle and from the base of a ruck Lewis Morrison was another to score his first try. Ian McKnight converted from the touchline.

Again straight from kick off Kyle Lindsay who was a threat all day took off on a mazy run and eventually off loaded to Russell McQueen to score under the posts. Ian McKnight converted.

Near the end when the visitors were under pressure a clearance kick was caught by Alex Craig for a simple score under the posts. Kyle Lindsay converted.

A fantastic performance after the defeat at Ayr and with Annan visiting Park Farm this Sunday for a 1p.m. ko they cannot be looking forward to it.
