Primary 4-7 Summer camp

Dumfries Saints Rugby Club Summer Camp

During the schools Summer holidays Dumfries Saints rugby club in partnership with the Dumfries and Galloway Council Leisure and Sport department organised a 5 day Easter camp from the 21st-25th July at Dumfries rugby club, Park Farm, Dumfries. The primary 4-7 started at 10:00-11:30.

It was the ideal way for the children to brush up on there Rugby skills and have some fun and enjoyment with friends and also new friends. With 30 children attending from all over Dumfries and Galloway Primary schools. We also had the privilege of 2 Glasgow Warriors players Mikey Adamson and James Ellie attended the camp on the Thursday, it was great for the children to have a 2 role models as big as these coaching and helping there rugby skills.

The camp was run and organised by 4 qualified Scottish rugby union coaches Darren Cruickshank, Barry Maddocks, Grant Drennan and Andrew Peacock.

Darren Cruickshank Dumfries Saints rugby club SVQ said “It was absolutely great to see so many children attend the camp. It was great to see some familiar faces from the end of the Mini rugby season in March and to see some new faces which hopefully will come along to the club to participate in more rugby. All children have put in a great effort and determination. Special mentions have to go to Nith Valley Embroidery for making the T-shirts Dumfries and Galloway Council, Dumfries Rugby Club and to my colleagues Barry, Grant and Andrew, Natalie Duncan from Glasgow Warriors and not to forget the 2 Glasgow players James and Mikey without these peoples help the camp wouldn’t have been a success thank you.”

The new Minis season primary 4-7 will start back on Sunday 24th August 10:00-11:30
