Micro Team ‘Try’ Out New Sponsored Strips at Drumlanrig Castle

Dumfries Saints Micro  Rugby, will be going for gold this season thanks to the donation of new strips sponsored by Drumlanrig Castle and Country Estate.

The boys descended on Drumlanrig last week to try out their new kits and test their durability in the Estate’s impressive adventure playground ahead of their first match of the season.

The Dumfries Saints Mini Rugby team were accompanied by coaches Pete Hannah and Stuart Clanachan during their visit to Drumlanrig.

Pete said: “We are absolutely delighted with the new Drumlanrig sponsored kits – the boys really look the part in them. Local support and sponsorship like this is key when it comes to helping amateur sports teams to thrive. I would also like to thankNeil from Sensor Studios and Homer from Homer Young Design for their contribution toward this kit.”

“The visit to Drumlanrig was a great fun experience and gave the team a chance to really put their kits to the test. We’d like to thank Drumlanrig Castle and Country Estate for its support. We are also hosting our 1st home Micro tournament on October 6th and hope to see Selkirk Rhinos (Buccleuch Group sponsored), Cambuslang and Cumnock at Park Farm”

Lucy Laidlaw, Marketing Manager for Drumlanrig Castle and Country Estate, added: “We were thrilled to welcome the Saints Micro Rugby team to the Estate and try out their new kits. The boys looked delighted with them and hopefully it will set them in good stead for success in the new season. We are proud to support this local team and we wish the boys every success in the future.”

The Duke of Buccleuch – whose Dumfriesshire family home is Drumlanrig Castle and Country Estate – has a long-standing history with the sport of rugby and is a founding sponsor of the Bill McLaren foundation, a charitable organisation which raises funds to support the development of rugby and its values.
