Debut cap for ex-Saint Gregor Hiddleston
Saints Club President Sharon Hiddleston and her husband Roy had an extra thrill on Friday evening when they travelled to Murrayfield to see their son Gregor winning his first Scottish cap and scoring a ‘debut try’ for the Scotland U20 squad against England U20.
Hooker Gregor came off the bench for the Scots in the second-half and crowned his first International appearance by scoring a debut try – Scotland’s 4th and earning them a bonus point – just on the final whistle.
It was a fiercely contested match – but unfortunately, the young Scots couldn’t round off the Gregor’s memorable night with a win – and went down to the strong English squad by a highly creditable 24pts to 41.
Former Wallace Hall pupil Gregor began his rugby career at 6 years old playing at Dumfries Saints before moving to Glasgow side GHA in 2021. Gregor is a brilliant example for the stream of promising players currently coming up through the Saints system.
