1st & 2nds League positions strengthened

Saints 1st XV have climbed a place in the RBS Championship Division A League Table following their good win against Dalziel on Saturday 30th November.  The win has edged them ahead of West of Scotland who lost out to League leaders Falkirk.

Saints next league fixture is on 21st December against Marr RFC – while Dalziel and West of Scotland play Hamilton & Whitecraigs respectively.  Points are tight at the bottom of the League – but the Saints squad have shown that they’ve got it in them to continue to climb ahead of the bottom two.  There’s a significant gap between us and the 4th-bottom placed Greenock, but it is really is a case of “everything to play for” in the struggle to avoid relegation.

Meanwhile, the 2nd XV also consolidated their league position with the remarkable win over Kilmarnock.  With 26 pts, they are still in the bottom half – but comfortably placed above their nearest rivals Kelso who have 19.
