Saints v Hillhead Jordanhill

The 2s welcomed West Reserve League 1 leaders Hills to Park Farm on Sat 2nd March in very inhospitable conditions for rugby.
The initial 20mins found Saints probing the visitors defence to find a well organised unit who gave little away and were dangerous with turnover ball. A home team knock-on proved costly as the visitors used advantage to good effect to score an unconverted try in the corner. Then with half-time approaching they scored an interception try to turn round 12:0 in the lead.
The visitors ability to rotate their large squad took its toll on the home side allowing Hills to exploit space with a back-row play to score under the posts.
With conditions worsening by the minute Hills drove a lineout maul to score the bonus point try on 65mins.
The referee sensibly cut the game short on 70mins with Hills deservedly claiming the win over a Dumfries side who competed well throughout and can take some positives from this encounter into the final 3 league games.
