Saints team news for 6 March
Saints Face Tough Trip
This week Dumfries Saints travel to Cupar in Fife to face promotion chasing Howe of Fife. Saints are in fourth place but have no real chance of promotion whereas their hosts who have been promoted with Saints for the past two seasons sit second and have a real opportunity. While Saints were disappointed with their performance last week but happy with the result Howe lost a close game away to Morgan. As a result this is a must win game for the hosts. Saints however have a strong rivalry with Howe and would dearly love to get a result!
The second XV travel to Lenzie for a tricky away game, by winning well at Irvine last week the side maintain their two point lead at top of the table. The side have a real chance to win the division but must keep on winning and picking up bonus points to achieve the target.
The Selectors have had to go with a large squad of forwards which will be whittled down after training depending on who has trained well and who is fit. In the backs Alan Birdsall stays in the mix after his efforts last week and Andy Walker also comes in, unfortunately Murray Richardson is unavailable due to work commitments.
