Donald Biggar

More sad news I’m afraid. We have just heard that Donald Biggar who farmed at Chapelton Farm, Castle Douglas has passed away at the age of 68.

Donald was a stalwart stand off at Park Farm back in the 70s and in keeping with his love of sport he was also a keen stalker and enjoyed a spot of fishing.

Donald, who won many awards at local shows for his pedigree cattle was wholehearted in his commitment to Scottish agriculture serving as Area President of the NFU during 1996/97 and was also Chair of Quality Meat Scotland from 2005 -2011.

Our thoughts are with Donald’s wife Emma and children Jamie, Rachael and Duncan at this sad and difficult time and offer our sincere condolences and deepest sympathy.
