Dumfries Saints S1/2 side travelled to Ayr on Sunday. The boys were apprehensive about facing a full S2 side given that 10 of the Saints were S1. Nerves were quickly put into touch when Dumfries kicked off, Ayr fumbled the kick and Captain Gavin Wilson recovered the ball and scored. The Ayr invinsibility soon disappeared. The Saints boys tackled like pro’s and fullback Jack Bain let nothing past him all game. After some superb rucking Scrumhalf Jack Roberts picked up and darted over the line to score in the corner. Gavin scored again to make it 3. In the second half Andrew McMorran kicked tremendously well from inside his twenty two to keep Ayr at bay. Scott McLellan made a bulldozer like run up the line to score and Andrew kicked his third conversion.

The final score was 26 – 0

The boys then went straight on to play a very difficult training game against a huge Biggar side. Gavin scored from a line out. All the boys had game time and played well.
