Team changes for senior sides this weekend

Saints Hope For Action

Updated Friday 26th February

After the disappointment of last weeks postponed matches, forced in part by travelling clubs unrealistic demands for early pitch inspections, Saints hope to get back into action this week.

The senior squads were able to play a training match on Saturday and all those involved got the benefit of full contact action. It also gave the coaches a chance to see some players in action and several second team members made a strong case for promotion including Stuart Kennedy and Alan Birdsall.

Both senior sides travel to Irvine on league action. The Firsts will be looking for a win to keep up their challenge for fourth place in Premier 3 and the Seconds aim to win and maintain their drive for league glory. The Selectors have had to go with a large squad of forwards which will be whittled down after training depending on who has trained well and who is fit. In the backs Alan Birdsall gets a run at scrum half as a reward for Saturday’s efforts in one of the strongest looking back lines the Saints have put out this season.
