Dumfries Saints 12 Peebles 33
A great start from Dumfries with Andy Whiteford scoring in the corner after the first couple of minutes of Saints possession, the conversion was missed. Within minutes Jordan Kerr added another which was converted taking the score to 12 nil with play hardly being out of the Peebles half.
Peebles won a penalty inside the Saints 22 taking the score to 12 : 3. Peebles were well organised, their ball handling was slick and some simple direct running by their 10 gave them a try close to the posts which he also converted.
Now that Peebles had found the Saints try line they repeated the process 3 times before half time. Next try was from their right wing but the conversion was missed then followed up by their outside centre and another missed conversion finally their stand- off crossed the line again and he converted his own try.
Half time 12 : 27
Saints kept possession in the Peebles half for long periods but did not get through the Peebles defence. When Peebles got possession they were able to clear their lines. Into the final quarter and one of their few visits to the saints half Peebles won a penalty from a scrum which they kicked for 3 points. Then after some sustained pressure on the Saints defence they won another penalty and another 3 points.
A disappointing result at home for Saints dropping them to 5th place in the league.
